MANUALLY DELETE THE PACKAGES
If you're using an LTE or wired connection, manually delete the official package and any corresponding Community Created Content that may prevent the installation.

MICROSOFT STORE VERSION

Close Microsoft Flight Simulator

Go to the "One Store" folder located by default here:
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore
NOTE: If you have installed the packages on a different drive look inside the custom folder.

Search for the package folder corresponding to the content (for example "asobo-aircraft-a320-neo" or "carenado-aircraft-wymf5")

Delete the package

Search for Community Content related to that airport or aircraft (such as a livery) and delete this package as well. By default you'll find the Community folder at the following location:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
Relaunch Microsoft Flight Simulator. You should now be able to download your content from the Content manager.
STEAM VERSION

Close Microsoft Flight Simulator

Go to the "Steam" folder located by default here:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam
NOTE: If you have installed the packages on a different drive look inside the custom folder.

Search for the package folder corresponding to the content (for example "asobo-aircraft-a320-neo" or "carenado-aircraft-wymf5")

Delete the package

Search for Community Content related to that airport or aircraft (such as a livery) and delete this package as well. By default you'll find the Community folder at the following location:
AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages
Relaunch Microsoft Flight Simulator. You should now be able to download your content from the Content manager.
ADDITIONAL TROUBLESHOOTING
If the error "package failed" appears again after following the steps above, do the following:
1. Delete the Rolling Cache
- Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator
- Go to Options > General > Data
- Scroll down and click on Delete Rolling Cache File
2. Disable Window Auto-tuning
- In the Windows search bar, type Command and look for ‘Command Prompt’
- In the menu select “Run as administrator”
- Enter: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- Press enter
- Reboot your computer
