How to fix a grayed out Marketplace tile

To fix this issue, simply restart Online Services and sign out/sign in again.

RESTART DATA CONNECTION SERVICES

If Online Functionality is turned OFF, turn it back ON.

If Online Functionality appears to be ON already, restart the Data Connection Services manually.

  • Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Go to Options > General Data
  • Toggle Online Functionality, Bing Data World Graphics, Photogrammetry, Live Real-World Air Traffic, Live Weather and Multiplayer "OFF"
  • Click on Apply & Save
  • Toggle Online Functionality, Bing Data World Graphics, Photogrammetry, Live Real-World Air Traffic, Live Weather and Multiplayer "ON" again.
  • Click on Apply & Save

Online Services automatically will also shut off when you have reached the monthly data limit. If your current Data Consumption is superior to the Data Limit you have set up:

  • Turn Data Limitation OFF

or

  • Increase the Data Limit (GIB)

SIGN OUT/SIGN IN IN TO REFRESH YOUR ENTITLEMENT

  1. Click on your gamertag in the top right corner of the screen
  2. Click Sign out
  3. Close Microsoft Flight Simulator and wait a few moments
  4. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator again, and Sign in

 

MOVE OR RENAME THE COMMUNITY FOLDER

 

To eliminate the possibility that the issue is caused by mods,move or renamethe community folder.

  • Navigate to your Community Folder. By default, you'll find this folder at the following locations:
Microsoft Store/Game Pass version:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

Steam version:
AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community

Retail boxed version:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\MSFSPackages\Community

NOTE: If you have installed the packages on a different drive than C: you'll need to look inside your custom installation folder instead.

  • Copy-cut (CTRL + X) the Community Folder
  • Paste (CTRL + V) the Community Folder on your desktop or a drive of your choice

 

Alternatively, if you do not have free space on your other drives, simply rename the folder to "Test_Community" 

 

CONNECTIVITY/MODEM ISSUES 

If the issue persists after doing the above steps, you may have connectivity issues.
