If you are having any of the following issues:
- HP Reverb G2 is getting error "No headset detected" in Microsoft Flight Simulator
- Windows Mixed Reality Portal is stuck on "downloading"
- OpenXR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality isn't recognizing your headset
- HP Reverb G2 headset is recognized as Hololens Sensors in Device Manager and you are missing "Mixed Reality devices" category
You need to manually install your HP Reverb G2 drivers.
Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56265 and download the latest Windows Mixed Reality drivers.
- Once the driver package has been downloaded, extract its contents to a location on your PC.
- Connect your HMD to your PC. Close the Mixed Reality Portal that automatically opens (if already installed on your PC)
- Open Device Manager. You can do this by clicking on Start, and typing "Device Manager" into the Search box.
- In Device manager, expand the "Mixed Reality Devices" section. If you don't see "Mixed Reality devices" category, search for "Hololens Sensors" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers"
- Right-click on your HMD, and click "Update driver"
- In the "Update Drivers" new dialog box that appears, click "Browse my computer for driver software"
- Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
- Click "Have Disk..."
- In the new "Install From Disk" dialog box that appears, click "Browse..."
- In the new "Locate File" dialog box that appears, navigate to the location where your driver package was extracted to, and double-click on HololensSensors (HololensSensors.inf).
- The "Locate File" dialog box should disappear and take you back to the "Install From Disk" dialog box. Click "OK".
- The "Install From Disk" dialog box should disappear and take you to the "Update Drivers" dialog box. Click Next.
- You should now see "Installing drivers...", and in a few moments, "Windows has successfully updated your drivers". Click "Close".
After performing these steps, in Device Manager, you should see HP Reverb Virtual Reality Headset G2 under category "Mixed Reality Devices".
Restart the computer and install OpenXr Toolkit and Windows Mixed Reality Portal from MS Store (if not already installed).
