How to fix packages showing as "not installed" in the content manager

Follow

If the packages are correctly nested in the installation folder but the Content Manager cannot find them/shows the packages as "Not installed," please do the following:

  • Close Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Depending on your platform, navigate to:
    • Microsoft Store
      • C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
    • Steam
      • C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator
    • Retail disc
      • C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\MSFSPackages
  • Delete the file 'Content.xml'
  • Relaunch Microsoft Flight Simulator

The Content.xml file will be rebuilt, and the packages will now appear in the Content Manager as "Installed."
