In this article, we go through general overview of the settings in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Settings are separated in 5 different categories and you can access them by pressing the settings wheel in the main menu.

Some of these settings have been changed compared to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. For example, VR can be found under it's own category when in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, it was under "General" settings.
GENERAL SETTINGS
In General settings, you can adjust your:
- Graphics
- Language
- Sound
- Online
- Camera
- Traffic
- Flight Model
- Flight Interface
- Advanced Options (such as developer mode etc.)
We recommend going through all of these menus and set everything to your liking before taking your first flight.
ASSISTANCES SETTINGS
In Assistance settings, you can turn on and off settings based on your experience of flying. You can set the AI pilot to handle different aspects of the flying. You can also toggle between "Default Assists" and "All Assists" by pressing the arrows under the menu bar.
ACCESSIBILITY SETTINGS
In Accessibility settings, you can adjust for example:
- Subtitle size
- Enable or disable narration
- Adjust Effects and Animation
VR SETTINGS
In VR settings, you can adjust graphics settings, traffic settings and other related settings to VR flying. These settings are only effective when you are in VR mode and you have your headset connected to your PC.
You can change between 2D and VR modes by going to "VR Mode" menu and selecting "Switch to VR" or pressing CTRL+TAB.
