In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, you need to install your 3rd party content that is downloaded outside of the sim to your Community folder. Same way as in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
By default, you can find your community folder for MSFS 2024 in the following locations:
Steam
C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community
MS Store
C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
Note - It is strongly recommended that you ensure any add on mods that you will use are fully compatible with MSFS 2024. Failure to do so can create problems within the sim itself.
If you want to check where your Community folder is located or change the location of your Community folder:
- Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Open Marketplace
- Select "My Library"
- Select "Settings" next to the search bar
- Select "Open" if you wish to open the Community folder location
- Select "Browse" if you wish to change the current Community folder location to somewhere else
You can check if your add-ons are installed correctly by doing the following:
- Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Open the marketplace
- Go to "My Library"
- Select "Community"
- If you can see your add-on(s) here, it is installed correctly
NOTE: It is up to the developers to make their products compatible with MSFS2024, so it is possible that even if you see the add-on correctly in your library, it might not work correctly until the developer has confirmed that it is updated and working in MSFS2024.
