Crashing with exception code 0xc0000005 when using Intel 13th and 14th gen CPUs

Follow

We have seen reports from multiple users having crashing issues with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 with exception code 0xc0000005 who have 13th of 14th gen CPU installed in their system (for example Intel i9-13900K or Intel i9-14900K).

If you are seeing this issue and you have one of these CPU's, we recommend updating your BIOS to the latest version. If your CPU isn't already damaged, this should resolve the issue. Check your motherboard manufacturers website for information about the latest BIOS version and how to install it.

If the issue persists after updating your BIOS, then it is possible that your CPU is already damaged and you need to send it to Intel for warranty exchange.

Also, make sure you can see this crash in Vanilla before updating your BIOS to ensure this issue is not caused by one of your 3rd party add-ons.
