How to Export and Import your controller profiles

Follow

If you would like to export your current controller profiles, import a backup, or use a profile shared by someone else, please follow the steps below:

  1. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

  2. Navigate to: SettingsControls.

  3. Select the controller for which you wish to export or import a profile.

  4. Click the cogwheel icon next to the profile name.

    • To export a profile: choose Export. A window will open prompting you to save the file. Select a location on your hard drive outside of the simulator’s installation directory to prevent the file from being removed if you reinstall the simulator.

    • To import a profile: choose Import, locate the saved profile file, and select it.

Important Notes:

  • Profiles can only be imported to the same controller they were originally created for.

  • The profile type must match the intended category: General Controls, Airplane Controls, or Helicopter Controls.

  • For example, a General Controls profile for a throttle cannot be imported as an Airplane-specific controller profile.
