Purchase issues: The payment window appears too briefly

If the payment pop-up closes down immediately, it means something on the system is making the Microsoft Store overlay crash. 

UPDATE AND REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM 

Start with Basic Windows 10|11 troubleshooting to ensure the system is up to date.

INVESTIGATE YOUR ANTIVIRUS AND SECURITY SETTINGS

Security software and 3rd party apps can close down or prevent the overlay from launching. 

1. Enable User Account Control (UAC) to "Always notify" (Review: About User Account Control settings)
2. Add Microsoft Flight Simulator to the exclusion list of Windows Defender  (Review: Stay protected with Windows Security)
3.  Add Microsoft Flight Simulator to the list of safe programs or temporarily disable your antivirus (For detailed steps, refer to your manufacturer's website)
4. Investigate other programs that may be interfering.
   • For instance, disable FRAPS and other programs and overlays such as:
     • Benchmarking Software 
     • Screen Capture Software
     • Video Capture Software
     • Virtual desktop
5. Investigate your Firewall (Review: Firewall & network protection in Windows Security)
6. Disable your Proxy (Review: Use a proxy server in Windows)
7. Disable your VPN (Review: Add or change a VPN connection in Windows)

DISABLE NON-MICROSOFT APPS ON START-UP 

• Close Microsoft Flight Simulator
• In the Windows Search bar, type "Task Manager"
• Select Open
• Go to the Start-up tab
• Disable all non-Microsoft apps
• Reboot the computer
• Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator and try again
